I always loved to cook, but it may be a case of a sort of ethnic captivity, because in the summer and on holidays on the ranch the girls began cooking lessons as soon as we could stand up on a chair at the kitchen counter-even the youngest girls were given balls of cornmeal masa and shown how to make them into tortillas.
From there, you went on to picking and sorting veggies from the garden, shelling/snapping/sorting peas and beans, then washing, chopping, measuring and preparing. My mom, grandmom and aunts always made it seem like an adventure or game, so that we were hooked at an early age...
I love my crockpot. Roast beef, turkey, soups, chili...I cook it all in a crockpot. Comes out perfect every time and the house smells fab.
My dog, was beating the living $h!t out of a Jack Russell Terrier, twice his size, repeatedly, when we met him.
Right to the throat, over and over,
But, since you asked, he’s on my Hobbes3259 twitter ID.
Which goes back to what I just said,
Cooking, is enjoyable, when it is a luxury.
Being a job, takes the love out of it,
(Hence xs’ baking comment)
When you can cook at your leisure, and whatever you wish, is far different than having to feed people regularly.
Yup.
I have 3 crockpots. An oversized one for big meals, a travel one for the station and an average one for just the two of us. My husband thinks I am being extreme, me I think it’s practical.
I need a crown replaced myself. Hate the dentist.
You could watch cooking shows for a year, there are only a dozen tips to pock up.
Fresh Citrus, and Herbs chiefly, the others center around trained Chefs like Zakarian(the stove top DaVinci) explaining how ingredients blend,
I agree. One can be servin. Breakfasts while the other chops efc,,then it’s a long sweet smelling day till dinner, and you can usually steal a slight lunch,,,
Xs teens alma mater was one who got the emergency stay— u if Dallas.
I have four. One at my ofc for the ofc Christmas party. Three diff sizes also.
Not interested in cooking or decorating shows. That being said xs fiancé got me a cooking class for Christmas, to take with his mom when she comes down.
That was my point. It serves little purpose, though I will watch Chopped from time to time...
There are only about a dozen tips to glean, to go from common to ...”wow,I would order this out.”
That sounds like fun. The spouse took a tamale class one time and LOVED it. He loves Tex Mex food, as do the kiddos. I do not.
If they called off school bc kods oarents wont idle a car, to wait for the bus, I’d go insane.
I only have ine that gets a bus, but even in single digits tomorrow AM. I’d rather drive him than stay home.
Sheesh, what is with you two...you don’t like Tex Mex in general, and Cilantro gags XS.,,
Oy vey.....
All the school districts have cancelled here for tomorrow.
No school here tomorrow. Too cold. Got some snow coming down earlier, but it stopped after an inch or so.
Had a CPR tonight. 24 years old and dead at the scene. Very sad.
Doggoneit! My temporary crown just broke in half......
