One thing I have learned over the years is not everyone is cut out to run their own business. The stress alone can be too hard. Being happy includes knowing your limits.

That's why my hubby always preferred to work for someone. Now that we are ready to semi-retire and looking to start some small businesses to help with the cash flow, it's time to re-evaluate that philosophy. Thankfully, they can be small income producing businesses, so that'll minimize the stress.

If you have any other advice for a newbie business, feel free to share. Sounds like you've been there, done that.

Thanks.

FWIW dept., don't commit money, or cash flow from other sources (retirement accounts, social security, pensions, 401K's) you can't afford to lose. Start slow. Do what you enjoy doing, it won't feel like work. Don't spend profit until it's in the bank!

What type of business are you thinking about?
