I read in the comments that denatured alcohol would be better than rubbing alcohol; I’m not a chemist so I can’t be sure.

denatured

Denatured means alcohol which has been rendered unfit for humans consumption but useful for other purposes.

“The difference between denatured alcohol and rubbing alcohol lies in their ingredients. Denatured alcohol is ethanol that has had methanol or acetone added to it, and is meant for lighting stoves and removing stains. Rubbing alcohol is a mix of ethanol and water, and is meant for sterilization.”
