Back, now, at 7:41, with jaw-dropping video of criminals stealing out of cars at gas stations, while you're filling up your tank. It's happening more and more often, and you don't even realize. And they're called sliders.
It happens in an instant. Watch as this man snatches a purse in a matter of second. Police call them sliders for the way these gas station thieves slide between the top of your door, lying in wait, for the right moment to pounce and run off with your valuables.
And this morning, police say these types of crimes are on the rise. Watch what happens at this texas gas station. This car pulls up next to a woman, who is pumping gas.
She is oblivious to the man next to her. He slides into her car, grabbing her purse and running off before she can even blink. She fachases [sic] after him, but to no avail.
These slippery sliders are being caught on camera all across the country. Sometimes the perp is caught red-handed. This man gives chase, after witnessing a sliding.
Most of the time, the victim has no idea until it's too late. They're not looking for a confrontation. They just want the property because they know it's being left abandoned and you're not paying enough attention.

This is why I avoid gas stations.
However the statistics cited don’t have Hispanics broken out as a separate category so they are perhaps lumped in with whites.
In-flight refueling?
Part of this problem is caused by automobile manufacturers designing vehicle doors to unlock automatically when the driver unlocks and opens his/her door. Even if the driver locks the doors after exiting, there is still a window of opportunity for thievery.
Same in a parking lot. When the driver’s side door is unlocked, all other doors automatically unlock, and during that moment, the driver is vulnerable. Anyone can hop into the back seat while the person is entering, or exiting their auto. Not all motor vehicles have this design flaw.
Few of these *sliders* in Maine .... the cold and snow keeps ‘em in Boston and Hartford.
Would be fun to have a *dummmy purse* with one of those exploding dye bags in it.
I’ve had a fair amount of target practice....but not on moving targets. Does that mean I have to expand my skills?
Some states, like California, break out Hispanics as a separate category on their Uniform Crime Reports. See page 34 at the link. In CA, non-Hispanic whites account for 29.4% of violent crime and 31.7% of property crime. But if Hispanic is added in, then the "white" totals would be about 70%
Yup. My US made vehicle has four independently locking/ unlocking doors, too,
Exactly. Who is fool enough to leave the passenger door unlocked? Or am I just paranoid that I lock my car when I’m in it or not?
Why would anyone leave their passenger door unlocked? You’d think the cops could get the license plate of those sons of obama.
Good heavens! It appears a person of multicultural background is involved in some sort of criminal activity.
Who knew?
Some kind of loop snare, a strong line tied to the seat base... Take off at high speed at the first sign of trouble. Why no, I didn’t hear anyone yelling, dragged you say?
Why not? After you get finished paying all the NY taxes, the purse is only good for carrying pictures of your kids and the dog.
Well, he finally got beyond those nasty smash and grabs. Baby steps.
But the knockout game was a local story only and really only an urban legend, right ABCDisney???
Look for the American Pravda Press to start discussing "white African-Americans".
Was skimming one of the Phil Everly obit threads earlier, seeing some of the song titles, remembering the relative sanity of those bygone days, and feeling the evil metamorphosis of our country like a pile driver with every other post.
Maybe it's just older age and/or cabin fever settin' in, but things really do seem to be well on their way to hell . . .
grrrrrr
Mine stays locked so I assumed they all did. Good to know. Will pass this on.
