If you enjoy history or jewelry or both, I recommend the Tower of London (if you’re going to be somewhere near it — not sure I would travel great distances to get there). The Tower itself is just about as full of history as it’s possible to be, and the display of the Crown Jewels is just amazing. I had to drag my husband into the jewels display (he was there just for the tower! LOL!) and he was AMAZED at the display. For sparkle and opulence, it can’t be beat. An amazing sight.

We also enjoyed the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich. My husband, a naval history buff, was moved to see the display of Admiral Lord Nelson’s final blood-stained uniform.

To me, the Crown Jewels were SO big that it really looked like fake jewels. And then you wonder if maybe they are fake?!

If my stay in london involved the evening, I’d go see a Shakespeare play.
