Her attorney, Marvin Leibowitz, said she was the subject of a warrant because she missed a preliminary hearing on a charge that was ultimately reduced to disorderly conduct.
When sheriff’s employees arrived, Ms. Needham said she was using the bathroom, but they broke down the bathroom door, according to the complaint. They shocked her with a Taser, applied arm bars and wrist locks, and put on handcuffs “that were too tight,” the complaint said.
Having been in her predicament in my misspent youth, I can tell you that handcuffs applied to tightly can cause nerve damage, cut off circulation, which if left on too long cause just the problem she experienced. Usually a bully with a badge thinks this is funny. The cop should be charged with whatever a good lawyer can dream up and sued along with his employer to the max. I forgot, the cop should join the ranks of the unemployed at the first possible moment. Just my 2 cents.
I read that.
How many people who have been locked in handcuffs that were too tight had to have their arms amputated ?
