I'll say it again, Putin is the best ruler Russia has ever had since Tsar Peter and Bork Obunga is the worst ruler any advanced state has ever had since Nero. Russians were literally starving when Putin took over and they no longer are. He has saved the world from the green/Malthusian scheme to crush all of the world's economies for the glory of Gaea. He has prevented Bork Obunga from starting a world war in Syria and he has made it a major piece of Russian policy to protect Christians in the world; Christianity would have no home in Syria were the lunatics our own government supports to take that place over.

Naturally enough when you fix as many problems as this guy has, you make a lot of enemies and there is a lot of bullshit floating around, such as the little piece of stupidity you just posted.

Putin is Russia's leader. He's done well for them, and probably better than any one else who was in play. He's not the best thing to ever happen to the US or EU. Then again, he doesn't work for us, he works for Russia. As a person, he is one of the more interesting political figures on the global stage.

I am intrigued by Russian politics, post-USSR. I'd like to see an analysis of the technical or theoretical rights and the practical rights afforded average people in Russia vs. the same in the US. I still here people my parents’ age saying, “What is this, Russia”. No, you can smoke in a bar in Russia, and they export all the natural gas they can dig up.

This isn't your grandpa's Russia. May not be our friend. But don't get mired in the Cold War past.
