Actually, I’m not that big a fan of “Oz.” Curiously, I found it to be too cartoonish.

Ever seen the 1985 Disney film "Return to Oz?" I think it's a lot closer to the spirit of the Baum books, and this might be considered heresy by some, but I think Fairuza Balk is a better Dorothy than Judy Garland. Not that Garland was bad, but Balk just looked the part (being younger) and seemed to be less maudlin - Garland definitely cried a little too much for my tastes.

I hadn't seen a recent Ellison video in a long time (I used to watch his commentaries on Sci-Fi Buzz in the late 90s). I can tell age has taken a toll on him - his speech is more halting, his voice has gotten more hoarse, and he practically looks ancient.

I’ve seen it, but I was really never a fan of the Oz story itself (I liked “Zardoz” better, if only for its weirdness). As for Ellison, he turns 80 this year. It’s weird seeing him as an “old man.”
