I’m sure the hospital will keep her hooked up for as long as the family can pay cash for her.
What insurance do they have? Does it matter?
Looks some henbane money is doin’ some politickin’
Have they tried the Jefferson Institute?
Let her soul go in peace, if it is still with her body.
It is a horrible thing to lose a child, but keeping her on a machine is only prolonging what should come naturally. Her parents are in denial, which I understand and sympathize with, but when all natural body functions cease give them the time to say goodbye with it but then allow her to go.
At any other time in human history this child would have been gone, only in the last eye blink of our being have we been able to sustain a body past its time like this.
The initial hospital has been waiting for transfer instructions since last Friday. Something is not ‘kosher’ here, to use a phrase. At least the family has stopped collecting money online for the girls’ transfer expenses. They should return every penny of that collection. The mother (and father if there is a present father) needs someone to help her accept the hard truth that her baby is not coming back. This is a very destructive, painful cycle of events, leaving nobody looking good or in the right. No more marching on the hospital. Marching about what? The hysteria of this family, and their tendancy to try using the hot light of the media for their emotional bidding is probably one reason some hospitals have backed out of the deal. Let’s not go shopping for trouble and endless litigation.
