I believe you totally. The missionaries hit there after WW2, and it is as you say.
Just so you don’t think I’m imagining or making up the wedding announcement story, it was in the news around Labor Day 2013. The guy is a prof. athlete with the Miami Heat. According to my Google hits, Billy Hallowell at the Blaze covered it. And if course it’s in my Twitter feed. Billy Hallowell, like me noted that the couple had had 2 little kids that they didnt abort before getting married and that the guy (forget his name) was supporting a little boy he’d begotten in high school. Just for some reason, they felt that the timing of this pregnancy was wrong. Much was made of his supportiveness, implying that this strengthened their relationship, etc. Whatever.
I suppose at least you have to give credit for not being hypocritical. You know darn well that a lot of brides have had abortions, sometimes because of pressure from a mother who’s afraid of what people will think, or because pregnancy will bollix up elaborate wedding plans. At least these people are open about it.
Incidentally, a tip for girls: Being supportive during an abortion isn’t neccessarily a sign of good character in a guy. I’m more interested in how he behaves when the girl decides to keep the pregnancy, even if he wanted an abortion.
