Shouldn’t this patient be grateful for the life saving procedure and at least send the surgeon a “Thank You Card” each year on the anniversary of his excellent werx every year?

It’s not like he branded his mailing address on it.

Though my sick mind thinks this patient would do well with a reminder of who to thank.

I asked my surgeon if he signed my new knee before implanting it. He said “no”.

I'll just bet he was previously sued for malpractice and it was discovered that he didn't perform the surgery that he was being sued over. That's one was of not getting a repeat.

I did that....

....except it was initials on a stamper in a record factory.

hundreds perhaps thousands of my 21 years of age and not thinking initials went out impressed in the vinyl in the inner blank area by the label.

me and my friend got canned. I had put in my one week notice the week before and it was my last day.

no livers were harmed.....

Just so the practice doesn’t catch on with plastic surgeons. Yikes. Cute little brands saying, “Nose by Dr Stein” or “Boobs by Dr Bradley.”

While this sounds weird, it’s not as unusual as people may think. An OB here in Kentucky got in trouble for branding “UK” on a uterus during a hysterectomy. The truth is, many surgeons use similar techniques in order to maintain their orientation during surgery. Large operations where organs are being moved and manipulated can be disorienting which can easily lead to complications. Defining marks can help prevent this-though maybe using ones own Initials isn’t the best idea. No doubt though that the lawyers will have a field day though regardless.

The bad part of this is that they charge you an exorbitant rate for the tattoo. Should be a large "refund" coming to that patient.

Let me guess, this happened in Vegas and the "patient" woke up in the bathtub of his hotel room to find his liver gone.

Don't laugh, that happens more than you think........(this is a first for the branding tho)

And the patients got billed for liver “tatoos “ since they pay hourly fees for the operating room usage and doc fees. That would make for a unique court case.
