Very nice. I’ve needed Photoshop and now it’s free. Another great tool to add to the collection.
Try out GIMP, it is free and if you look at youtube videos on how to use it can do much of what the latest Photoshop can. Type at google: gimp help
Much help such as http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/

Also look at Paint.net at http://www.getpaint.net

Thanks for the info! Will have my photo shop loving daughter take a look in the morning!
Thanks again, and Merry Christmas.
Bump
I have wanted Photoshop just about for ever, but could never quite convince myself that it was worth the money for my occasional, non-professional use.
Thank you. I have downloaded, installed, registered it, and am about to begin ‘testing and learning’. I have been away from photoshop for a while, had an old version that I could not load on my current pc. So now the learning process begins again. Again, thanks. Appreciate this.
Thank you for being patient with me. I get it now.
Think I’d explore free alternatives before shelling out any money, ESPECIALLY for some damn paid cloud service that charges a monthly fee.
Here’s a google search I did:
freeware freehand drawing programs
even though adobe photoshop CS2 is actually legally available for free download, don’t think it would be a good art program. Mainly for photo manipulation with some crude drawing tools thrown in I think.
Look at what people say about the software that gets turned up in the suggested google search to educate yourself. You’ll have to do a similar search with respect to drawing hardware and it would interact with software.
Other than that, can’t help you out much more because I know next to nothing about freehand drawing software and hardware.
There are customer reviews at the link. CS2 was designed for Windows 2000 / XP. The Amazon vendor might have to wait a while to get $2995 for the same software.
I’m on CS6 which l believe is the latest version.
This will keep me for the next several years.
If you have 8 to 16 GB of memory (I bought memory when it was cheap) you can fly thru projects.
of RAM?
wow
What does that mean? I cannot get it to install on my Mac. Thanks.
Bfl
Seems it won’t run unless you’re using an old Mac.
I got bit too.
You might look into Manga Studio. They have been around for a few years. I have never used it, but it does seem popular.
Also Illustrator:

Yeah, Gimp doesn’t have the flexibility and options of PS..
Ya, it is resource heavy :p
