Used to listen to “Animal Stories” with Lar and “Little Snot-nosed Tommy” at 5:45 AM on WLS, when getting up to get ready to go to school, in the early ‘80s. Loved that stuff. RIP, Uncle LAR.

Animal stories was repeated at about 8:45 each morning.
When I was traveling Illinois, I would schedule my first sales call in the morning so I'd be back in the car to catch Uncle Lar and Tommy.

I don't think Rush mimicked Lujack at all—at least I couldn't hear it if he did. Rush picked up some of William Buckley's vocal mannerisms, especial when referring to the REVERAND Jackkkkson...
