Naw, this was a Dodge/Plymouth thing. Remember some guy i H.S. had s Super Stock car sponsored by an auto parts store. He'd bring it to school now and then, thin aluminum fenders and all. Apparently a special factory car set up for drag racing.
The “cross ram” was big in the late 50s/early 60s.
I’ve seen it on a ‘62 413 Plymouth.
The car wasn’t especially fast but did drink a lot of gas.
