If you have Amazon Prime, Netflix, and most networks are now putting episodes directly on the web, you can watch most things now on cable. I still have cable but it really isn’t necessary anymore unless the programming comes from a premium channel (HBO, SHOWTIME, etc).

See post #39. I watch all the Hbo Showtime etc stuff on them. Usually the next day. I usually wait and watch the whole season at once though. Game of Thrones, House of Cards, etc.
There is absolutely no reason to pay for anything anymore.
