Here is the kit house that Laura Ingalls Wilder lived in for many years, not her farm, but nearby. They moved back to the farm house in '36. I have been there.

Love it, it’s gorgeous.
I live in a modular myself, and have a 4 unit rental building that is modular construction. I also have a rental house that was a kit home. It’s a cash box.
I just like tweaking architects, been around too many of them.
