Uncle of NJ Carjacking Victim: 'I Want Them to Die' (Short Hills, New Jersey, Dec. 15, 2013)

A relative of the New Jersey attorney who died Sunday when thieves shot and carjacked him at a shopping mall says he wants the perpetrators to die for the "selfishness of their crime."

"What do I want? I want the punks responsible to pay," said Dr. Mark Schare, the uncle of Dustin Friedland. "I want them to die. I want them to get what they gave."

Schare's sharp-worded statement was aimed at assailants who approached Friedland, 30, and his wife, Jamie, in a parking garage Sunday night at Short Hills Mall, where the couple had been Christmas shopping. They shot Friedland, ordered his wife out of the couple's Range Rover and took off in the vehicle, according to The Associated Press.

Jamie Friedland was unharmed in the attack. The couple had recently purchased a home in nearby Hoboken and were both practicing attorneys.

'I don't want to hear about how difficult they had it growing up.'

Schare said he is not interested in hearing arguments for compassion for the killers.

"I don't want to hear about gun laws, that dilutes this atrocity," according to his statement. "I don't want to hear about how difficult they had it growing up, that dilutes the selfishness of their crime. And I don't want to hear how we need to show them compassion, that dilutes the fact that they committed MURDER.

"Murder that PERMANENTLY ended the life of my nephew, a sweet, soft, loving, giving, smart and talented Individual. Murder that has devastated my niece, made her a widow, and murder that has PERMANENTLY scarred my family," Schare added.

The stolen vehicle was found Monday in an alley in Newark, N.J., about 10 miles from the mall. Police are still searching for the assailants.

well any gun is good if the aim is good

a .22 that goes into the eye of an attacker will down any attacker really fast

that’s one way to stop a bear or dog that is attacking you also

I had a family member murdered in a simlar way many years ago. The desire for retribution is overwhelming. It threatened to tear my family apart even though the perp was apprehended quickly.

Having them locked up for life does nothing to quell these feelings. The entire purpose of having a “justice” system is to prevent families like mine from evening the score against the perps loved ones.

The softer the penal system becomes the less satisfied the victims family feels. Until the people that create these monsters are made to pay with their own blood there will never be TRUE justice.

...says he wants the perpetrators to die for the "selfishness of their crime."

Dr. Mark Schare is out of luck if he expects justice in this country.

The FBI cares about members of dem victim groups and their possible hurt feelings. That's it.

What will happen to these killers? In short, almost nothing.

The killer who pulled the trigger will go to prison for a short period of time and the others will be back on the street in no time. Effing revolving door.

Thanks law enforcement. Americans live in a shit country where if we want to be safe we have to arm ourselves, pay for security systems for our homes, install anti theft devices for our cars and walk in fear on city streets. Thanks 'crime fighters' of the FBI... thanks for 'protecting the hurt feelings of liberal victim group members... at the expense of American citizens.

Anyone think the FBI is going to swoop in and interview friends and relatives of these killers to make sure they've never spoken badly about a white person? Like they did with George Zimmerman? Ain't gonna happen.
