I'll bet dollars to donuts that the bulbs failed due to the built-in power supply and not the LED themselves. Of course that's a distinction without any practical difference. When I build my house, I want to run a LV DC circuit for at least some of the lighting.

Similar to what another poster said, my LEDs didn't fail totally, but within about four months they lost at least half of their lighting power. These were for flashlights.
