Asked how the GOP could win the Senate in the 2014 elections, Walker explained that Republicans must not be viewed as the 'party of no' as Democrats have tried to brand them. "As they're running for Senate, focus on the two key issues: an economic concern in our country, [and] there are still too many who are not coming through." Walker explained that Reagan's 1980 acceptance speech should be a model for the Republican Party to message for voters. "If you live in poverty, we want to lift you out, he said. We don't want to leave anyone behind. We need to embrace that across the board."
That’s nice but the GOOBs will never take back the Senate without the TEA Party that they threw under the bus last week. They’ll be lucky if they can hold the House in 2014.
That's the Democrat message: "Don't worry. We'll do it for you." Our message should be "If you live in poverty, we want to foster an environment that will enable you to work your way out of it."
Walker’s a big open borders/amnesty guy.
That in itself would kill conservatism and the American experiment once and for all.
Ditch Mitch, in the General if necessary.
Walker’s not really a small-government guy.
The answers are not political.
They need to pound cheap labor Scott Walker and win those Senate seats in Montana and the South.
To win the primaries, conservative Republicans should say that they’re pro-tax cuts, pro-spending cuts, pro-life and anti-illegal alien. After those conservatives win the primaries, they should concentrate on economic issues.
THE economic issue of our time is the obscene expansion of government.
Until that is reversed, the economy will never heal.
You don’t read very well.

If any of these Rats or liberal media lapdogs try to demagogue them with this crap, just tell it to their faces that you're pro-life and pro-traditional marriage, and these are non-negotiable. Then you resume talking about the economy and jobs.
Seriously, it's not hard to do, because this is exactly what the Left's going to do. They're going to accuse Republicans of not paying for some bimbo's birth control pills and protecting a "women's right to choose."
Reject their narrative. Stand strong on social issues, and don't answer hypothetical questions about abortion if a woman was raped. The base will stick with you and those independent voters will like the fact that you've stood strong. Nobody likes wishy-washy politicians.
Well said PhilCollins.
And he's not really not running for president, either.
I think the immigration position works as well in the primary as it does in the general with swing voters.
The immigration position is only a problem for the far left and GOP consultants.
Vitter’s opponent was on the back foot when Vitter ran the Welcome Prize against him.
I think that’s the LIV version Walker’s using. Your version would be for the Likely Voter who thinks and reasons.
Remember what America let Billy Clinton get away with while the economy hummed along.
Isn't that the message they've been using for some time now?
Scott Walker buy a clue. Defunding Obamacrap was all about preserving free market capitalism, ergo the economy.
So Republicans should accept the status and positions that Democrats prefer for them? Scott understands the Republican Party to be division of the Democrat Party, its Designated Opposition wing. You have to do what the boss says.
Spot on, but some are. How much of poverty, slow growth and misery are results of some federal, state or local law that serves some crony at the expense of liberty?
