I half expected Army to try a fake punt for their own 5 (and fail) at the end of their previous possession.

Fourth and three on their own 10.

Army goes for it (and fails)

I knew this was coming somewhere in this game.

Year after year, Army makes bad decisions in these games.

Year after year.

I *almost* felt a twinge of sympathy for the Woops, particulalry with all the team injuries. Then remembered Army beat us my Plebe year at USNA, and we were not permitted to “carry on” through the holidays. Have never felt sorry since for Army losing any sports contest. Number 13 coming next year, Kaydettes.

Go Navy, Beat Army!!

Army sucks so badly that our AF Falcons, who finished 2-12 on the season, beat them handily. Navy should have no difficulty with the Black Knights.

My ancestors left France to conquer England. They were successful.

"Garde la Foi" is my family's motto. If a French motto is good enough for the Queen of England, it is good enough for me.

Garde la Foi, mes amis! Nous nous sommes les sauveurs de la République! Maintenant et Toujours!
(Keep the Faith, my friends! We are the saviors of the Republic! Now and Forever!)

Since no one posted, Navy beat Army 34 - 7.

Navy has really had Army's number the past years.

However, I am amazed that the Academies can even begin to compete at major college levels. Why would a NFL wannabe go to a academy where he could be put off for 5 years instead of making the big bucks.

I don’t think many NFL wannabees get anywhere near the academies these days. But the academies do get a lot of good athletes with enough brains to not only prosper in the service but realize they aren’t gonna be NFL players. Combine that with good coaching and esprit de corps and you get some decent teams.

Which is why you don't get a lot of NFL wannabes. But you do get outstanding players to attend. I was watching it yesterday with the boyfriend and I was surprised at how many of the players had fathers and grandfathers who played academy football. I think they mentioned one of the Army players was the third brother to be on the West Point team. So I'm sure tradition plays a big part.
