I wonder how to tell if what you have is biodegradable. Marcella's sources suddenly became "green" when she didn't want biodegradable. I'll look it up and report back if I find a feasible-sounding answer.

I don't have peanuts but I do have large pieces of packing foam since we live in the middle of nowhere and have to have things shipped if they're not locally available. Poking holes in that stuff would work, too, I imagine. However, we have no shortage of rocks, lol!

Yes, I would think that those large pieces/containers made of packing foam would work just as well.
