I forgot to mention another alternative. Since you talked about xbmc, I assume you are somewhat savy with tech. If not, you can might want to check out the $35 chromecast dongle. You can stream all sorts of stuff to your TV. Like netflix and hulu, youtube and what not. I think you just use your smart phone, pick something to watch and hit a button to send the feed to your tv. It’s not a bad deal for the price.

I have not heard many good things about those dongles.

Looks like you are the only guy on FR looking at this technology besides me.

I’m Tech savvy but a neophyte at Open source, and understand that this stuff is not just plug and play.

The Source code gets updated constantly, but the Gbox does automatic flash updates.

I’m giving Gbox a go.

I expect better results than loading XBMC on a Raspberry Pi
