Was anyone able to make anything out of de Severksy’s gibberish today? Or was I the only one who thought he’d had a bit more Scotch than usual?

To be honest, I've gotten to where I skim de Seversky, if I read him at all. So, I went back and read today's piece. I agree he must have had a snootfull. All I take from the piece is a rant about a German weapon that had virtually no impact on the War and another rant about why we aren't building a similarly ineffective weapon.
It's ironic that this comes just as the Mustangs, the nemesis of the Luftwaffe, are being deployed. But he doesn't see that coming, of course.

Or was I the only one who thought hed had a bit more Scotch than usual?I suspect he was writing to reassure the general public as well as friends and families of 8th Air Force members who received "We regret to inform you" telegrams that the telegram was not due in any part to 8th Air Force doctrine but rather to some devilish new enemy weapon.
