The Skins have ruined at least two franchise QBs by never having any semblance of an offensive line in front of them and, apparently, Shanahan doesn’t want to see that happen to RB3. They weren’t ready to draft a top QB when they drafted RG3, they need to go for three or four years using high draft picks for linemen. From the point at which they got rid of Cerrato, they had next to nothing to show for drafting; it’ll take ten years to recover from that.
They traded their high draft picks for RG3, even this coming drafts first pic belongs to the Chiefs or something from a trade that happened 2 or 3 years ago

A “mobile QB” (ie. a running QB) is a double-edged sword. Even with a good offensive line these guys tend to hold the ball longer. Add the fact that as an O-lineman you never really know where the guy is behind you, so you set the pocket and hope. Sometimes holding the ball gets you a big play, more often you get a sack or an INT. And in the long-run you almost always end with an injured QB.
I’ve been watching a bunch of “Mobile QB’s” in Philly since Randall Cunningham. They almost always were the most sacked QB’s in the league. Give me a QB that has just enough mobility to slide around in the pocket, gets a good pre-snap read, and has a quick-release. Took an injury to our latest “Mobile QB” for us to find one of those.
