Dirty little secret about comcast...they use the same wire to bring cable tv into your house as they do the internet. If you pay for internet, simply use a “Y” splitter on the wire just prior to your router-there are about 25 HD channels they can’t stop coming thru.

I kept my Comcast high-speed internet (need that for Netflix and Roku) and can tell you I can receive absolutely ZERO HD channels via Comcast on any of my SmartTV's. Nothing. All the channels here have been moved up to a Digital tier which require their box to receive them. No two ways around that.

They can tell. Might take them a while, but at some point you’ll see a business card from someone in “content security” taped to your door with a short handwritten note offering a great deal on TV service.
