WASHINGTON (AP) Feeling chilly? Here's cold comfort: You could be in East Antarctica which new data says set a record for "soul-crushing" cold.
Try 135.8 degrees Fahrenheit below zero; that's 93.2 degrees below zero Celsius, which sounds only slightly toastier. Better yet, don't try it. That's so cold scientists say it hurts to breathe.

Helps to read the article I guess. This record took place in August 2010. Three years to announce this?
Read the article much? ;)
That’s 25°F cooler than the temperature of dry ice at STP.
It’s right around the coldest temperatures measured on the surface of Mars by the Curiosity rover. Typical daytime temperatures on Mars rise to about 0°C, and sometimes to +10°C.
Not only August, but August 2010. AGW whackos must have wanted ot keep it under wraps.
Most who blow money like that are likely extreme narcissist...They do this so they can brag to the neighbors when they get back...As if playing tourist somehow makes them smart or highly educated...Some of the dumbest and or most ignorant people I’ve ever known in my life, had lots of money...
does this mean we will see boat loads of penguins landing on the shores of Cuba and Florida? oh wait, wrong pole?
I beat your gig by 5 sec. :)
Hah, it hurts to breathe when it hits 20 above Fahrenheit.
But he said scientists do routinely make naked 100 degree below zero dashes outside in the South Pole,
But that's only after they've been driven mad by not seeing the sun for six months.
I have to call BS. Carbon dioxide freezes at -78.5 Celsius. Are there quantities of dry ice lying about down there?
Its not the cold so much as it is the wind chill.

Dayum. I like to keep my beer cold outside, but even I think this is a little too much.
Ah. Thanks for the clarification.
I'll admit I had the same question and almost posted it without reading the article too.
I am happy to say that in the many, many years in which I have known My in-laws, I have never expected anything more than, or anything over, a U.S. penny of support from them.
And in the time I have known them, they have never failed to even come close to My expectations.
But, just to add insult to injury, I have also always made it plain that their hatred of Me simply makes Me smile all the harder. I do so love infuriating them so. *grin*
Yeah, well Waleed ya moonbat whacko, want to explain why the ice pack has increased by over 60% at that other "spot"....the Arctic Circle?
Still a parasite I see. How'd that mooselimb outreach deal work out for you?
Doesn’t the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere start forming dry ice at around that temperature?
They should hope that no unfairly disadvantaged Liberal entitlement freaks decide to liberate that money from them in the interests of fair play and the fact that Lord 0bama sez “they didn’t earn that, didn’t make that, didn’t come by it fairly”.
Watching Top Gear now. The episode where they drove to the north pole is a hoot. Its just starting on BBC America.
*laugh* Have to admit; I would seriously consider purchasing such a refrigerator if they offered it as an option on the models I am considering. *grin*
