When I was still a poor law student, my undergrad buddies came into town and wanted me to join them at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for qualifications. I had $5.27 in my bank account, so I had enough money to get in to the track. Didn’t know what I was going to drink so I went around the house and the car to scrounge up $1.59 for a 6 pack of BUCKHORN. I met my friends and was drinking my beer when three 12 year olds came up. The ringleader said “hey mister, can I have one of those?” I told him I thought he was a little young to be drinking and he said he wanted an empty can. He collected beer cans and said “I’ve never seen anyone drink that before.”
That method sounds familiar, one of my pals always got his beer money by mining the couch cushions, after his Dad woke up from a nap.
