25 cents for a cart?

That's not entirely accurate. 25 cents deposit for the cart. Once you return the cart you get it back. This saves them from having to hire people to go out into the parking lot to collect carts.

Oopsie. The one and only time I went to Aldi, the quarter was not redeemed upon my checkout...perhaps that’s b/c it was early-on in their existence here. I’m not sure.

I love Aldi’s for my family of 8. Because there are fewer choices, I’m able to get in and out quickly. I shop there first and then make quick runs into bigger stores like Hy Vee or Sam’s for bulk items or specialty needs.

Aldi’s is very inexpensive. I make almost everything from scratch and think their produce is pretty decent so being able to buy the staples there is definitely a good plan for us. My time is valuable so I don’t want to spend hours going up and down 25 aisles at the bigger markets.

Having said all that, every once in awhile I will go to the bigger stores for the sake of convenience and location. It always feels like Christmas. So many products. So many choices! I am horrible when I go in there and come out with a million items that weren’t on my list. Especially the fancy coffee creamers! :0)
