Conn was a decidedly unfriendly place for an outsider from Texas. Texas welcomes everybody so I was unaccustomed to that kind of treatment.

I’ll not apologize for Connecticut. Anyone who *knows* would never spend any time in Groton or New London....for anything. Unless you want to get mugged. LOL

From my experience military towns and environs are very *un*friendly places for military wives.

FWIW.....visit anywhere in the deep south as a Yankee, if you want to be treated as an outsider. LOL

it is NOT friendly as the south with strangers, that is for sure

However, up north, we do not have 4 different ways to say, “Bless your heart”, either :)

The trust and politeness of the south is indescribable to us Yankees, and outright strange to have someone at the check out counter ask us how our day is...and they really want to know...
