Ouija boards make good kindling.

My mom bought me one for Christmas when I was 12 or so.

Have no idea WTH she was thinking.

They still make those? Then they should rename them Obama Boards (now that we’ve got a name).

Gateway to the Underworld. Nobody ever dug that board out thinking, “Oh yay, let’s play a fun game!” More like “How if we call up a demon to scare the living hell out of us?”

“Ouija boards make good kindling.”

Except they burn for hours and hours. Screaming the entire time. (At least according to a childhood friend of mine when he told the story many years ago.)

My buddy had a Ouija board and it never worked. (Thank goodness). We found a crystal ball and tried having seances with that - never worked. (”Crystal” balls CAN be glow-in-the-dark plastic can’t they?)

We ended on a high note however. Rigging up his basement with fishing line attached to a lamp, a picture on the wall, and a wooden chair. Freaked out a couple of the girls when the chair moved, etc. as we asked “show usssssss a signnnn.”

Like I said, REALLY glad we never got it to work. I wonder if it had something to do with not really believing in that crap at a young age. (And now I do!)
