This is a feral plant, not feral tobacco. The type is a burley bright leaf tobacco. The seed somehow got itself started in my fall potting soil, and I kept it to see what would happen.

I normally start my tobacco seeds in Feb.

If this one keeps growing (and I keep repotting it), it may be ready to harvest about the time I get ready to plant my regular tobacco crop. ;)

A type of mullien grows as a weed in NC and we called it wild tobacco. But none of us smoked it...We grew 60 acres of flue-cured tobacco. Come to think of it, we didn’t smoke the flue-cured either.
