My favorite was when the Niburu folks said astronomers could not see it approaching because it was coming from the Southern Hemisphere.

As if there are no observatories or amateur observers south of the Equator.

Which would mean that it would be moving too fast to stay in orbit around the sun.
[Objects further out must move faster to stay behind the sun, objects closer in must slow down, this is physically impossible and the exact opposite of how things really work. Objects further out move sloooooooowly, the closer they get to the sun, the faster they move due to gravitational attraction. Then after perhihelion, they slow down again.]

That this stuff crops up, and the same people (Nancy Lieder, Paul Begley, Terral03) are being quoted as being credible makes me laugh.
