I am using the same ipad I always use. I've almost never needed to log in. Now I need to log in each time I arrive. Not fun. I can't find anything that keeps you logged in. The thing marked extra convenient claims to, but it doesn't.
Been a donating Freeper for 13 years, never seen a moose, and I have showered recently. And I am logged in. But sick of logging in!
I’m not very good at this but cookies is how it knows it’s you. You’ll have to unblock them. When I clean mine I have to relog.
It can only be cookies.
But I know nothing of ipads or safari.

Is Free republic a third party? If not, cookies don’t appear to be blocked.
Anyone on an ipad and can tell me if this is happening to you? And if not, what are your safari cookies settings?
It depends what kind of cookie blocker or cleaner you have (or maybe several of them). Most of them allow you to insert a list of cookies you want to keep. I do that with FreeRepublic, Amazon, and a couple of other sites where the cookies are useful for one reason or another. I use CCleaner once a week to clean out the ones that aren’t listed.

They probably just had to do a server reset or something. Stay tuned and see if it happens again.
You have cookies blocked, or your OS is clearing cookies.
I never had to log in to FReeRepublic when I use my iPad on vacation.
Maybe try the “Block Cookies” setting in Safari.
Go to “Settings” > “Safari” and select the “Block Cookies” setting. Check to see what it is. If it is “Always”, try changing it to “From third parties and advertisers”.
Maybe that will help.
I logged out one time when we moved. i think it was in ‘06 for about a week. ;o)
Make sure that Safari is not configured for ‘Private Browsing’. If it is, you will have to log in repeatedly.

Oh oh. I want to be on that list. I work with many Latinas and when they begin to go Latin on me..I point alternately between my blue eyes and blond hair and say...eyes hair...eyes hair. As a reminder. :-)
A blonde ping list would be great!

It IS set to block only third parties and advertisers! That’s why I asked if FR had become a sudden third party.

In settings, for Safari, click Accept Cookies - “From visited”
Maybe that will make a difference?
