In my own experience that is inadvisable.
If I read a book and then see the movie it ruins the movie experience because I can not help critiquing the movie adaptation of the book. I pick out the changes the screen writer made in the plot or changes made to the development of the character.
If I read the book after seeing the movie I pick these things up but I still enjoy the book.
I understand but I will tell you that in this case reading the books helped understand the plot even more. You actually get a better feel for the capitol and the mindset of the people there....the scary thing is you see low information voter all over this. But I enjoyed reading and then viewing the story line. The cast is well chosen for the parts, even Woody Harrelson! He has Hamitch’s personality down.
“If I read a book and then see the movie it ruins the movie experience...”
I had that experience with “Silver Linings Playbook”. I read it, it was OK; but they changed so, so much in the movie.
Hubby and I rented it on pay-per-view and I just gave up on it. All I was doing was saying over and over “that’s not how it was in the book!”
