Community Organizations: Obama’s corrupt power grab

Obamacare outsources the important job of enrolling the uninsured in health plans, taking it from government and entrusting it to community organizations. Why outsource? Because it eliminates public scrutiny, accountability, and the necessity to be nonpartisan. Community activists can say and do things that government employees can’t, such as urging people to register as Democrats.

Community Organizer: Busted!

A Director of Enroll America, a group dedicated to signing people up for Obamacare, is on video agreeing to help obtain a private list of potential Obamacare enrollees' data for election/political purposes.

Enroll America appears to be sharing data and working directly with an explicitly political group called Battleground Texas, activities that Project Veritas' O'Keefe notes “are prohibited unless certain conditions are met.” Adrian Bell, the regional field director for Battleground Texas, proudly notes the group was “started by President Obama’s national field director” and is “dedicated to turning Texas blue.”

Chris Tarango, Texas Enroll America Communications Director, was videoed by Project Veritas.

Complaints have been filed with the IRS and the Attorney General of Texas.

Bill Introduced to Prevent Insurance Industry Bailout

Warning that the latest ObamaCare "fix" could compel the federal government to bail out insurance companies, Republican senators have introduced a bill to prevent taxpayer funds from being used to prop up the industry.

"The idea that the federal government should be bailing out insurance companies in order to make ObamaCare work, that's not something a lot of people are aware of"

The provision has been in the law since passage, but Rubio and other senators raised concern about it after President Obama announced last week that he would allow insurance companies to continue to offer out-of-compliance plans.

Administration Offering Insurers 'Bribe' to Reinstate Plans

The Obama administration is offering a "thinly described illegal bribe" to entice insurance companies to reinstate plans they have canceled, Karl Rove says.

Appearing Thursday (Nov 14) on Fox News Channel's "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren," Rove held up a three-page letter sent out Thursday by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services explaining that the "risk corridor program" would be expanded to help companies "ameliorate unanticipated changes in premium revenue."

The problem, Rove said, is that the risk corridor program applies only to "qualified plans" under the Affordable Care Act – not to grandfathered plans.

Obama Administration proposes an IRS rule to violate PPACA

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act offers "premium assistance" — tax credits and subsidies — to households purchasing coverage through new health-insurance exchanges. The law authorizes premium assistance in state-run exchanges (Section 1311) but not federal ones (Section 1321). This past summer the Obama Administration proposed an IRS rule to offer premium assistance in all exchanges "whether established under section 1311 or 1321" - a clear violation of the law.

Lawsuit

Forty House Republicans side with Obamacare Origination Clause suit

All revenue-raising bills must originate in the House (Article 1, Section 7), and since the bill that became Obamacare was written in the Senate, House Republicans say that’s a problem.

Forty House Republicans filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit

Quoting the brief, Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) said in a press release, “If the Senate can introduce the largest tax increase in American history by simply peeling off the House number from a six-page unrelated bill, which does not raise taxes, and pasting it on the ‘Senate Health Care Bill,’ and then claim with a straight face that the resulting bill originated in the House … then the American ‘rule of law’ has become no rule at all,”

In an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller, Dr. Robert Nirschl — a practicing orthopedic surgeon, former faculty member of Georgetown and a former member of the legislative committee of the American Academy of Orthopedic surgery — dismissed the recent issues suffered by HealthCare.gov and the media feeding frenzy surrounding it, arguing that the systemic flaws within the law had not yet surfaced, and that when they do, it will be catastrophic.

The Purpose of the Welfare State

Defenders of the welfare state argue that its purpose is implied in its name: providing for the welfare of its citizens. That is done by the judicious transfer of resources to ensure that even citizens on the lowest rung of the socio-economic ladder have access to the material resources necessary to lead minimally decent lives. The problem is, once you look at actual political outcomes a little more closely, they do not resemble the intentions of the welfare state’s defenders.
