Most people working today, especially in retail, don’t want to ... This will continue until shoppers say nope, we’re staying home today and on Black Friday
In the early 70s, I managed in retail when malls were closed Saturdays at 6 pm, Sundays and holidays.
When that all changed, I left for greener pastures.
The "word" was that stores would close on those days once again, when the shoppers said nope, we’re staying home. They never did.

The shoppers are part of the problem. But if all the retailers closed on Sundays and Holidays, the shoppers would still buy as much in less time. If Hobby Lobby has something I want, I’ll even pay more to buy it there on the days they are open. Rather than encourage their competitors to abuse their employees.
