I don't know whether your comment was meant with tongue in cheek, but you are absolutely correct.
Not at all tongue-in-cheek. When I was young, I was very open-minded towards homosexuals I would meet, as modern political-correctness demands. Some were nice people, others not very nice or just plain odd. But I also quickly found that all I met had one or several typical, serious problems. Sexual promiscuity was obvious, but I saw depression, drug addiction, extreme nervousness and hyperactivity and violence from other gays and the extremely strange people that were part of the "lifestyle." Then of course there is physical disease as well.
I came to my own conclusion that nearly all homosexuals are carrying a great burden of mental problems. I can not say if their lifestyle is a cause, or result, but it certainly is part of the tragic cycle of cause and effect in their lives.
