I wonder if there was some shenanigans going on by a cashier at the restaurant and the waitress? Is it possible that the tip was added by the customer on the wrong receipt, the card run for the whole amount, but the cashier putting one over on the waitress and wrote the note to piss off/play joke/get back at her?
NO! What is possible is that this waitress thought she could get attention and donations for her victim-hood from the gullible public..
It is a epidemic in the media to pick up stories that confirm their meme that moral loving folks are bigots and hateful because we do not believe that one should be able to abandon their morals to satisfy their amoral urges..
The story is open and shut, thanks to the costumer keeping their receipt, and producing the Credit Care statement proving that the derogatory statement was written after the transaction, and further proving that they, indeed place a sizable tip on the tab, without any commentary..
As for the suggestion that another employee interfering with that tip, the server's number is picked up by the computerized register, not a person, and transmitted that info to the paymaster, without interlining injection..
I owned a chain of restaurants and can attest to the accuracy of my statements..
