Years ago, I dated someone whose sister was a lesbian. I never met the sister but was told that even though...wait for it... she was “open-minded” she wouldn't approve of me being politically conservative. Anyway, the lesbian sister, as I later found out, disapproved of her sister's (my gf at the time) happiness. Point being: I think some people want to be miserable and are only happy when they spread that misery.
