That lasted until Jim Garrison subpoenaed the film for the New Orleans Clay Shaw trial. Garrison released copies and finally in 1975 it was shown on midnight TV. It created a firestorm because no one with an IQ even approaching room temperature would ever believe the shot that hit JFK in the head was fired from behind.

The House Select Committee on Assassinations started after the TV show to re-look at the Warren Comm evidence. The HSCA had a draft which said one gunman fired three shots when at the end of the "investigation" the audio experts started to piece it all together. Frame 313 fired from right front, hit JFK in the head
Frame 325 fired from BEHIND (last shot from Tex School Book Depository), missed JFK's head and hit Connally in the back.
But the gov't censors would NOT let the audio experts show that, the forced them to show that the shot that hit JFK in the head was the last one fired from behind, not the one that was fired from the left front. AND THEN THEY INSULT YOUR INTELLIGENCE BY TELLING YOU, SEE, THE SHOT FROM IN FRONT MISSED!
The US gov't will tell any lie to keep you from understanding the obvious scenario, a powerful conspiracy killed JFK. The US gov't was hijacked by the conspirators and lie after lie was told.
