the first time my husband and I decided to butcher one of our turkeys for thanksgiveing we learned a few lessons on what not to do..#1 hubby wrapped the live turkey in large rubber tubing to keep it from flapping after cutting off the head. #2 after you cut off the head it still keeps on opening and closing its beak and moving on the barn floor. #3 the beheaded turkey can still flap its wings as it hung on the barn beam. #4 if you both grap the headless turkey with wings flapping, the one that holds the butcher knife has to remember to drop the knife before he makes a grab at the bird and almost slits wifes throat with the knife still in his panic hand. Wife survived, turkey didn’t. Next time we did one of our own turkeys, we brought out a paper grocery bag to throw turkeys head in....that head can really creep you out.
