I guess I never cared for her because she abandoned a soldier about to go off to war and my Green Beret friend made it sound evil because she left him for Hollywood. But in reality, it does take two to create a divorce.
Speaking of Hollywood, Raquel is not evil. Jane Fonda is evil. I will watch a Raquel Welch movie. A Jane Fonda anything is not tolerated in my home at all.
Raquel’s first ex, Jim, I believe went on to become wealthy in real estate.

Fell in love with Sophia Loren many years ago - still find her very attractive. She’s my choice for women aging gracefully.

Who knows what happened to them but you remeber what the Army was like, during basic, at least half the guys lost their girl friends, fiances and wives, then during AIT, another half (or quarter of the remaining), and then during the rest of their military service it was hit and miss for the rest, Special Forces spends a lot of time in schools and away, plus a young man can become more intense and focused, which can cause distance from a young wife who is still the girl she was 2 years before, perhaps their high school started relationship, just didn’t endure.

We all have different twists to our Army stories. Mine, I met my one and only wife of 42 years during my 4th year in the Army.

When I was in high school my dad and I went to the Indy 500. A line of cars carrying celebrities was driving through the crowd that was packed tight enough that it was hard to get out of the way. Someone bumped me and I got clipped by one of the cars. Not badly (they were going at a walking speed) but enough to be heard in the car. I turned 180’ and there was Miss Welch in the back seat looking at me with a “I hope you're OK” look. Damn she was beautiful!
