I usually do apple & pumpkin pie at both Christmas and Thanksgiving - as well as import mince pies, the English way.
Kinda looks like a yule log—now that you mention it.
“Comb” the icing to look like tree bark...add a few meringue mushrooms, marzipan woodland creatures...few sprigs of holly....et voila.
