The facts are (as far as I can discern) in this case that the entire boarded paying customers called BS.
I would guess that this is just some jackass flight crew with a power problem.
Everybody loved Poochie.
I doubt that they were Muzzies, but who knows?
Facts seem scarce.
I gave it to you. The crew’s hands were tied. Safety trumps political correctness.
being an ass over “safety” is not safety, sorry, am not convinced by your pathetic answer
When the crew lies about the events.
My bet is that the crew got on their too-common authority kick, had a grumpy passenger (who happened to be blind) talk back (because of the hour-long delay on the tarmac), and they removed him because they were still in the throes of their opportunity to exert their authority (power corrupts)... and the rest of the passengers acted out, being tired of moronic stewards abusing their position.
Americans are getting very, very, very tired of authoritarians.
Nothing in the story indicates a "blocked" aisle, only that the dog was momentarily in the aisle. A momentary presence is NOT a blockage, particularly on a tarmac, particularly when they've been sitting on the tarmac in zero danger for over an hour. To say anything else is to imply that any passenger or crew in the aisle is also a blockage, and therefore stewards MUST be prevented from being in the aisles. Or are you okay with risking safety so the drink cart can go down the aisle on a short flight?
AH! - 404 — good one...
The aisle does not have to clear in flight. On the ground during taxi (try standing up sometime and see what happens to your trip plans), during takeoff, and landing. The simple matter of putting a disabled person in an exit row can result in huge fines to an airline. For the same reason.
Americans should be tired of leftist who always assume that a business is intentionally “mean” when they are merely following the diktats of an overeaching government. Sheesh, this story is precisely like Obama blaming insurance companies for his mandate. Freepers of all people, should more wise about stories like this,.
Go back to DU. They whine about businesses that comply with the laws in order to place blame on wealth makers instead of lawmakers that dictate illogically. Can you explain why you can stand on a city bus moving 45 mph, but can not stand for a moment on a STOPPED aircraft while it is taxiing? Airlines have been fined millions for allowing passengers to not be seated, with no blockage to aisles. Southwest used to permit it, and the FAA turned a blind eye, until one day a different administrator of the FAA was emplaned. Then they retroactively fined them millions.
they were still on the tarmac, and the whole rest of the plane was livid leading me to conclude that one of the “professionals” was overly officious in the enforcement.
People are sick and tired of being di8ked around by numb nuts at the airport so took matters into their own hands. clearly something the martinets do not comprehend is that authority comes from the governed, and when they overreach, it won’t be for long. Take note and don’t be an axle yourself in whatever your esteemed position is
Thanks JoeProBono.
Apparently I’m not.
Sad but true.
