Liverpool Defender Andre Wisdom Forced to Leave £100,000 Porsche in Mud-Filled Ditch

LIVERPOOL defender Andre Wisdom was forced to leave his £100,000 Porsche in a muddy trough after his satellite navigation system took him through poorly kept country roads.

The England Under-21 captain was sent through quiet forest roads on Friday night by his car's Sat Nav which left him walking three miles to a main road after his car ended up getting stuck in the mud.

Wisdom, currently on-loan at Derby County, was on his way up to Derby for Saturday's home game with Sheffield Wednesday when the incident occurred.

A Derby County spokesman said: "Andre visited a local shop on the way to Saturday's game against Sheffield Wednesday and, being new and unfamiliar to the area, he programmed the stadium's postcode into his Sat Nav.

He added: "The route provided took him down a less than traditional road, where conditions were also poor, and ultimately his car got stuck."

To get to that point he would have to have come through an equally muddy section, I have no idea what he was thinking.

Local mountain biker Pete Irons found Wisdom's Porsche Panamera Turbo, worth £100,000, in the ditch close to Breadsall Pride Marriot Hotel outside Derby.

He informed the police and was shocked to think the car had got that far in the terrible conditions.

He said: "To get to that point he would have to have come through an equally muddy section, I have no idea what he was thinking.

"We are miles from any main road, and the track doesn't go anywhere, it's just mind boggling how he ended up there."

"I think it will definitely need a bit of TLC in a garage."

The 41-year-old was amazed when police told him the car belonged to professional footballer Wisdom.

"I couldn't believe it," he said.

"I realised it was a really posh Porsche so we were all joking about the poor guy who had managed to get it stuck and how much money it was going to cost them."

Mr Irons said he later saw a Jeep towing the car away but it was too dark to see the driver.

it is still unknown how the car got into the ditch exactly or how Wisdom escaped.

However, he was able to get to the match on Saturday after the club arranged transport for him.

It didn't seem to affect his performance either with the team winning 3-0.

Wisdom himself was unavailable to comment on the car incident.

GPS free driving should be required to get a driver’s license.

To paraphrase Pete Rose, “see the ball, kick the ball.” The Scouse care nothing of his driving ability.

“...in the ditch close to Breadsall Pride Marriot Hotel outside Derby”

Why would a Marriot Hotel be on a dirt road?

A Porsche Cayenne might have been okay with that trail but a Panamera should stay on the paved roads. Odd thing about that pic is there hardly any mud splatter on the car so he was probably just creeping along when he buried in the mud puddle.
