A man in New Mexico was pulled over by police for a minor traffic violation. When officers said a K-9 unit sniffed drugs on the driver’s seat, the officers forced the man to undergo invasive medical procedures, including an anal exam.

It may sound nearly identical to David Eckert’s nightmarish story as reported by TheBlaze Tuesday, but this is an entirely different incident.

It does, however, involve the same uncertified drug-sniffing dog in New Mexico. The dog’s name is Leo.

It’d be a real shame if something bad happened to Leo and his “handler”. Just sayin’.

Leo needs new training; his “handler” should be pumping gas.

Leo needs to be retired. The officers need to be fired and sued along with the medical staff who went along with this ridiculous abuse of power.

We need to start a “jack-booted thug” ping list.
Before leaving the USSA, I noticed that cops, even in small bedroom communities, had morphed into such thugs.

I wish that that county’s LE could be sued out of existence.

The victim seems to have been a chronic drug offender the police had it in for. While this information adds to the reason for the horrible abuse the guy was put through, it doesn’t excuse the cops.

If LEOs can't distinguish whether a person is or is not holding something up their butt with a statistically demonstrated confidence of better than 95% accuracy, then such an observation does not constitute "probable cause" for arrest and search.

I defy anyone to attain such a level of accuracy.

This is getting to the point where being observably needing to defecate constitutes cause for arrest.

“The officers need to be fired and sued along with the medical staff who went along with this ridiculous abuse of power.”

They are, big time, in Federal Court. This guy will be able to have HIdalgo County, New Mexico named after him when the whole mess is settled. Not only has he sued all the front line people involved, he’s sued the hospital, the city, and the county claiming civil rights violations. The only one he hasn’t sued thus far is the putz judge who signed the warrant, but I’m hoping the get around to him too.

I was pulled over for not using my blinker. I think the officer felt sort of goofy when I pointed out that 1951 pick ups were not factory equipped with turn signals.

At least one of these guys, David Eckert, has a history of drug arrests and filing lawsuits. According to the warrant, he also has a history of hiding drugs in his booty.

Not saying this is right, or that the cops aren’t thugs, but all the details from a highly questionable source.

They did not have any reasonable reason to think this guy had drugs in his rump. No evidence whatsoever. Did the victim know these guys? Was this personal?

They should all be in jail for official oppression if you ask me.

I’d wager about half the population of San Francisco will be driving all through the night tonight to get down there early...

Although the police had apparently taken several suspects to the same doctor whom they knew would perform the searches, the cops didn’t necessarily do anything wrong but take the suspect whom a dog identified as positive to the hospital for tests. It was ultimately the doctors that should gave refused to perform illegal and unconstitutionally invasive procedures.

Have you looked at Hidalgo County? They could give him the whole place and nickel but he still wouldn’t have a dime.
