Why does it need a USB port?
I believe you can add one with the camera/etc add on. But I haven’t used those connections since I got them.
Maybe I’m misspeaking but the power cord has USB functionality, or at least it does on my 1st generation. Otherwise i’d have been unable to tether to the “home” computer to activate via iTunes.
