Iirc, I read that Bougainville has they heaviest average rainfall on earth. Conditions there for both the Japanese and the Allies were almost indescribably horrible.

Per Wiki, avg. annual rainfall in Bougainville is 181 inches.

Min. of 9” in June and almost 23 inches in Jan.

Ducks must love the place.
