In yet another hollow attempt to stir up racial controversy and divide America further in order to keep Americans from focusing on the gross ineptitude of Obamacare and the never-ending scourge of lies and scams spun by his administration, Mr. Obama’s Department of Justice is investigating if the civil rights of an Hispanic teenager were violated when a sheriff deputy in Sonoma County, Calif., shot and killed him as the young boy refused to drop his air-soft toy gun that resembled an AK-47.

Tragic situation. I've read several accounts of the incident and had responses to some postings. I wasn't there so obviously have no first hand knowledge of what happened. I can say I've seen some of the air-soft "toys" that are out there and dang if they don't look like the real thing. Even more so if the orange tip is missing. So, in real time in the dark with the adrenalin pumping, do you hesitate or take the shot? Then pushing the "race card" only makes it worse for all involved. Now cops, I guess, also have license to "hunt" down non-white kids? (Still trying to figure out why folks whose ancestors came from Spain are a different race.)

Up until the Time Jerry Brown was Governor the first time in California in the 70’s, If a Peace Officer fired upon an unarmed individual, or a person that was not directly threatening them with deadly force, it was Manslaughter. A Peace Officer is supposed to be Extremely Well Trained to ferret these things out on the fly, I realize mistakes will be made but this is a little over the top. I am sorry to disagree on this, but Since we began Lowering Standards in the 70’s, we continually to see more and more of these executions by Peace Officers that quite frankly should Never Be on the Job in the first place.

Do the Police have Military Style weapons?? YES
Are the Police a Paramilitary Force?? YES

Then they should be held to the EXACT SAME STANDARDS as Our Boys overseas in WAR. The RULES OF ENGAGEMENT should be IDENTICAL. We know what would happen to a Soldier if he did this, why should we treat POLICE any Different??
