Glenn Beck on Wednesday donned ruby slippers and played with dolls in an elaborate comparison of the state of the country to The Wizard of Oz.
Its almost like Im in a movie, and I just want to go home! he joked.

Glenn can be very funny.
He’s wrong with his interpretation of the Wizard of Oz, in my opinion.
Glinda symbolizes the Guardian angel and cannot fix Dorothy’s problems for her. Dorothy has to practice virtue herself, in order to learn it, like every other coming of age kid.
Glinda tells the Witch of the West (Evil) that she has no power in her territory. Dorothy had to defeat Evil in her own territory. She’d already killed the Witch of the East (Evil; most likely Miss Gulch) in her desire to go home. So she was up to the task.
Glenn’s not in Kansas anymore.
Off the farm
The good Witch instills personal responsibility in Dorothy. And it takes. She ends up back home ready to be part of the family as an adult, having been victorious over her demons
It’s a classic fairy tale/coming of age story.
I find many lessons in The Wizard of Oz. For instance, the characters Dorothy met needed a heart, a brain and courage. How many people do you know possess all 3 attributes? Yet all three are very important to have and only function at their best together. Yes. Dorothy was taught that she had the power within herself to make things happen. She did not need a Wizard.
That’s it
Watched it a thousand times...had two little girls that played the tape over and over and over. Great movie. Still have the tape around here somewhere...
It’s more like “Wicked” than “The Wizard of Oz.”
